The Powder/Ombré Brow is a semi-permanent tattooing technique where a traditional method is used with a tattoo machine. This technique has been around for decades and improving over the years. Powder/Ombré brows today are a great way to achieve natural-looking and defined eyebrows.

Ideal for all skin types, the Powder/Ombré brows technique fills and shapes brows by creating a soft shaded look similar to eyebrow pencil, tinting, or henna treatments.

FAQs

How does the Powder/Ombré Brows treatment work?

Certified tattoo pigments are deposited into the skin by a tattoo machine. However, unlike tattooing, the machine does not penetrate the deeper layer of the skin and is therefore semi-permanent.

To deposit the pigment into the skin, the machine is used to tattoo individual tiny dots that together form a soft shaded/powdered look. Varied densities of the tiny dots are tattooed depending on the area and the desired fullness to create natural-looking eyebrows.

What’s the difference between Powder/Ombré Brows and Microblading?

While microblading is achieved by using strokes of a needle to manually deposit the pigment, Powder/Ombré brows use a machine to deposit the pigment in hundreds of tiny dots to create an overall powder-like effect. The results of Powder/Ombré brows are similar to how eyebrows look with an eyebrow pencil, a tint or henna treatment, instead of individual strands that are achieved by using microblading.

Unlike microblading which is more suitable to normal to dry skin types, the Powder/Ombré brows technique is suitable for all skin types. Powder brows will also typically last longer than microblading, up to 3-5 years.

What can I expect after my Powder/Ombré Brows treatment?

In the consultation, we will discuss what results you’d like to achieve, your ideal eyebrows shape taking your face shape and features into consideration, go through the process with you, and answer any questions. We will then shape and clean up your eyebrows to prepare for the treatment.

Your brow area is cleaned and a topical anaesthetic is applied to numb the area. Then, using the tattoo machine, we deposit the pigment into your skin in quick tiny dots.

Does the Powder/Ombré Brows treatment hurt?

Due to the topical anaesthetic, most clients experience very little discomfort but there might be a scratching sensation.

What do I need to know about post-treatment care?

After the treatment, you might experience some redness, swelling, and your eyebrows may appear darker than desired. Don’t worry, this is absolutely normal and please avoid touching or disturbing your eyebrows.

Clean the area with unscented soap morning and night and apply antiseptic ointment for about two weeks. During that time, please also avoid any make-up and stay out of heavy sun exposure.

Scabs will form on your eyebrows and they will shed naturally. Please don’t touch or remove them as this might cause scarring or infection.
