Constant exposure to the sun can damage skin and cause common skin imperfections such as redness, freckles, age spots and uneven skin texture.

IPL - Intense Pulsed Light is a skin treatment that delivers intense pulsed light to the skin and is absorbed by unwanted skin pigmentations, causing the pigment to shatter and seal the surrounding blood vessels. The heat energy of the laser stimulates new collagen production, firms the skin and reduces skin pre size, resulting in more perfect looking skin.

IPL is also used to effectively treat acne and breakouts, destroying bacteria and calming inflammation.

This treatment can be used effectively on many areas of the body, including face, chest, neck and hands.

FAQs

What happens during my IPL Limelight treatment?

You will be given protective glasses to shield your eyes from the light.  Your therapist will  apply a cold gel to the treatment area, you will feel a warm pulse over the area. To finish we will apply  post care products and sunscreen.

What does it feel like during my IPL Limelight treatment?

While there is a noticeable sensation, there is little pain. Some clients say that it feels like a flick against your skin.

What can I expect after my IPL Limelight treatment?

You will have a “healthy glow” followed by a darkening of any pigmentation. Over the next week or so, brown spots and pigmentation  will begin feel drier and textured as the skin cells turnover. The real results become evident after two weeks and you will visibly notice a reduction in pigmentation and improvement in overall skin tone.

How can I prepare for my IPL Limelight treatment?

Stay out of the sun  and avoid spray tanning for at least two weeks before your treatment. Have any worrisome spots of moles checked out by your GP and also confirm with them that you're not on any medication or have any condition that is not suitable for IPL treatment.

If you book your session online, you must book a consultation prior so we can run you through all the preparation to ensure your skin is ready for your sessions.

How long will the results last?

The visible results of IPL Limelight  improvements will become more pronounced with each treatment. The number of required treatments will vary depending on the individual, the areas of concern and skin type.

What kind of post-treatment care will I need?

It is essential to prevent sun exposure after your treatment, make sure to apply sunscreen - SPF 30 or above and/or cover the treated area if possible. Don't scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers in the first few days after treatment to ensure that you don't irritate your skin.
