Dermapen (an advanced form of “skin-needling”) is a method of causing controlled and gentle micro-trauma to the skin in order to stimulate a natural, organic process of wound healing which acts to enhance collagen formation and rejuvenate skin cells.

As the skin repairs itself, new collagen is deposited in the papillary dermis, plumping the skin from underneath, to smooth out wrinkles fine lines, stretch marks and indented scars. Remarkably, up to 400% new collagen can be formed from one single treatment.

The skin’s strength, collagen and elastin are improved for a rejuvenated, smooth and youthful looking result that just keeps getting better with time.

FAQs

How does the Dermapen Therapy work?

Dermapen Therapy is advanced skin micro-surgical needling; a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

The Dermapen stimulates cell renewal and new collagen via microscopic needles that are placed gently on the face in a singular motion to achieve “controlled injury” to the skin without damage.

The needles create micro-channels into the deeper skin layers resulting in an increased absorption of the active ingredients from products. The multiple, fine channels allow for up to 80% more topical nutrients to be delivered deeper into the skin. This increased absorption helps stimulate repair and faster resurfacing.

As the skin repairs itself, new collagen is deposited in the papillary dermis, plumping the skin from underneath, to smooth out wrinkles, fine line and indented scars.

What does it the Dermapen Body Treatment feel like?

A topical anaesthetic is used to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable. Most clients do not feel a thing.

What happens right after my Dermapen Body Treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will look as though you have moderate sunburn and it may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours and will normally recover within the same day (sometimes, there may be slight redness the following day).

What results can I expect from my Dermapen Body Treatment?

After your treatment you body will start to naturally regenerate and repair your skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes a little time as new collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are regenerated and blood supply is enhanced.

It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and this will continue over the following months, providing you with gradual and long lasting enhancement.

How many treatments are recommended to see optimum results?

Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results.

However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-6 treatments spaced about 3-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-ageing, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 week intervals.

Overall, it really does depend on your particular skin condition, and what other treatments you are doing alongside this procedure.

Is the Dermapen safe?

Yes, the Dermapen  treatment doesn't involve any injections and therefore it is unlikely to develop allergic reactions and side-effects. The treatment is also minimally invasive with rapid healing and simple after-care.
